Art market tends to overheat nowadays. Rumors are all around such as someone sold his work on tremendous amount or young artist's works are sold out etc.
Thanks to  flourishing business, artists are getting busier and busier to supply need of artworks. It seems that everyone see painting as a cash.
What's the difference between a senior painter's so-called prestigious painting and a fake of their works in a black market? Under the capitalism system, especially those from Britain and United State, artwork considered as a commodity. So, can it be classified into two group such as a genuine artwork under the guarantee of the obligee of trademark registration and an illegal copy?
The answer is no.
There might be a anachronistic desire for artworks in which audience may feel creator's passion among those of conceptual, branded, major trend.
In the meanwhile, Gallery Velvet formerly paid  respect to Kim Chun-Il, Kwon Ki-Yoon and  Kim Hyun-Chul for their time consuming effort for paintings which occasionally took several years to finish. (JinGyeong, It's asthetics of slowness, )
We also hosted symposium for Kim Chun-Il, Moon Bong-Sun and Kim Bum-Seok to introduce aesthetic of Korean traditional painting at Winchester school of arts.(The sansoo, 2005.10.19-10.26, Winchester school of art).
7 years ever since, Gallery Velvet held Kim Hyun-Chul's solo-exhibition in Seoul. It will be a good opportunity for the Gallery to solve out problems in management which we have long been faced. 
We also will launching a mook in which we'll discuss the identity of Korean arts and circulation of artworks in Korea. Debaters will consist of  Hong Ga-Yi, a philosopher,  Shim Sang-Yong, an art critic,  Jung Hyung-Tak, a Gallery velvet director etc.
In this respect, we're not intend to urge Kim Hyun-Chul's method through this show but would like to ask witch way is more suitable for us.
He choose a theme of this show as 'The painting that has unpainted" and arrange mountain and cloud as objects. Then, finally filled with 'Jin-Kyeong SanSoo" technique, the actual facts of a landscape. 
Most of all, the artist emphasized the importance of space, not the technique of 'Jin-Kyeong'. In this exhibition, Kim Hyun-Chul will empty himself ever since he constantly filled himself with Jin-Kyeong technique. 
That's why he seems to stand at crossline whether he is keep going on his own way or get back to the bottom.
Even though he used writing brushes and ink stick, the subject matter of his painting is Batman and logo of Nike. Nowadays, it is the fashion to use Korean paper collage and sprinkle ink on the paper in  Korean oriental painting field. Therefore, it might be natural that we are concern about the stages of a his career. Does it look so personal? 
Then, just ask him when he's going to cease painting landscape.
